Stanford 20/20 schedule announced

The Stanford 20/20 Technical Advisory Board has announced the dates for the Stanford 20/20 Tournament, which is taking place in Antigua at the first-class Stanford Cricket Ground, with the first match scheduled for Tuesday, 11th July.

‘Deciding on the dates for the Tournament proved challenging as the cricket calendar in this region is always very full, and so many countries and their players have commitments that they of course have to honour,’ said Andy Roberts, chairman of the Technical Advisory Board. ‘It was definitely a case of working with the dates that we had available. We are confident that the timeframe that we have set forth for the Tournament is one that will cause minimal conflict with the other activities happening in the region.’

The tournament will span a 5-week period which includes a break for Antigua Carnival and also takes into account the possibility of rain during what will be hurricane season.

‘The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is pleased to include the Stanford 20/20 Tournament in its calendar,’ said Roger Brathwaite, CEO of the region’s governing cricket body. ‘I am sure that the 19 participating countries are looking forward to 11th July with great anticipation, and there will be no shortage of cricket to help them prepare leading up to this exciting competition.’
