Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run collision on Eastern Avenue near Kirk’s Home Centre at around 1am Monday.

The victim was travelling north along Eastern Avenue on a blue Jailing scooter when he was rear ended by a red Mazda Miata soft top heading in the same direction.

The Miata then reversed and left the scene in the direction it was coming from, said a RCIP press release.

The 32-year-old victim received minor injuries.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the red Mazda travelling in the area prior to or after the incident to come forward.

Man arrested

A 35 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breaking into a car following an incident in the car park of the Savannah Church of God.

The Caymanian man, from Bodden Town, was arrested on Wednesday morning.
