Exercise and healthy eating are an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Getting regular checkups and knowing your health risk factors is another critical component of healthy living.
This Saturday, Generali Worldwide, working in partnership with nursing staff from Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital, will sponsor a series of healthchecks at the Youth Health and Wellness Fair to help kids and families gain a better understanding of their health.
Jeanette Verhoeven, R.N., Client and Provider Relations Manager for Cayman Insurance Centre, Generali’s local partner, stated, ‘This is a good opportunity to raise awareness in the community about key factors to measure health risk. We’ll provide some 200 tests for blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol screening and weight and body mass index measurements for participants. This is part of Generali’s continuing effort to help improve overall health and well-being in Cayman.’
Christine Sanders from the Cancer Society commented, ‘Rotary Sunrise Club and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society are keen to promote total wellness of the entire family especially among our young people. We are excited that Generali Worldwide and Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital will be at the health fair to provide health screenings to attendees.
‘This will be the first time we will be able to provide cholesterol screenings at such an event thanks to the donation of the equipment by Generali. With some early information we hope that people will act to move to healthier behaviors and possibly avoid illness.’
Generali’s current health promotion efforts include sponsorship of the Be Active initiative in schools to promote healthy eating and activity, the Day Out program to provide children an opportunity to learn new water sports, and sponsorship of the Girls’ Football Organization to support greater participation in sports among girls.
