Man charged in Foster’s robbery

A Jamaican national appeared in Summary Court on Thursday charged with abduction, robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm following incidents on the night of Saturday, 4 March.

Eluno George Liking, 25, appeared before Magistrate Margaret Ramsay-Hale, who remanded him in custody until 30 March.

According to the charge sheets, Liking resides in West Bay.

Details of the abduction charge allege that Liking compelled by force a named man and woman to go from the West Bay Road Public Beach to various places in West Bay, then to the Foster’s Food Fair Republix Store in West Bay, and then to another location.

The robbery charge alleges that, at Foster’s, the defendant used force against a named person and stole one cash register computer processing unit valued at CI$10,500.

The unlicensed firearm for which Liking is charged is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing ten rounds of ammunition.
