The Lions Club of Grand Cayman recently hosted their annual Bikeathon with more than forty people taking to the road to ride the 16 miles from the Old Everglow Drive In through South Sound and onto Public Beach.
‘It was a great turnout not just by Lions but lots of Lions supporters turned out to ride and also raise money,’ Lions President Walton Gooding said,. ‘Our youngest rider was Cody Culbert, who at only ten years old did a great job in completing the route. We had said we wanted to raise at least $10,000 from the Bikeathon and from the feedback I have received from Lions we will surpass that target’.
All funds raised will go to Lions-Quest, drug abuse prevention and life-skills programme supported by Lions Clubs International which is the longest running initiative under the Lions Youth Outreach Programme.
