The recent rains have left little doubt that we have entered the start of hurricane season.
For the more delicate among us it’s on with the rain jacket and out with the umbrella as we race from house to car to office.
But pause a moment to appreciate our newspaper sellers as we drive by in the comfort of our dry cars.
On Friday morning, as it rained cats and dogs, I passed two of the more hardy souls of our community selling your newspapers at the Cricket Ground intersection and the Hospital Road intersection.
Under the cover of little more than a light rain jacket and a garbage bag, they were sodden but smiling.
I was so impressed that I bought a paper from each seller, one to read and one to use as a makeshift umbrella!
