On Friday, 911 Emergency Communications received a call stating that a 64-year-old male had been missing for several hours in East End.
It was understood that the victim had left his residence in East End early that morning to pick mangoes. His wife became concerned that he had not returned and called 911 for assistance at approximately 1:20pm, said an RCIP press release.
Officers from East End and Bodden Town police stations were notified, along with two canine units and Cayman Helicopter. Some 20 residents of East End also joined in the search.
At 2:18pm police officers were informed by Cayman Helicopter that the male had been located off the Queen’s Highway in dense vegetation. He had lost his bearings whilst walking in the bush area.
Police said the gentleman was in good condition and required no medical attention.
