Man arrested for murder

Police arrested a 52-year-old man Saturday on suspicion of murder.

At around 3.20am, emergency communications centre received a call from a member of the public reporting a disturbance at an address in Pool Lane, George Town.

Upon arrival police found a 25-year-old Nicaraguan woman with stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

A Nicaraguan man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.

Detectives are asking the public’s assistance with the investigation and urge anyone who was in the Pool Lane area in the early hours of Saturday morning who may have seen or heard something to come forward.

Officer are also keen to trace anyone who may have seen the parties involved at Zodiac Club, the Sea Inn bar or the Meringue Town Bar prior to the incident.
