Tears of joy

Prescilian Bromfield attempted to hold back tears of joy as she was crowned Miss Teen 2006/07 at the 28th Miss Teen pageant held last Saturday.

Miss Teen 2005/06 Kamak Murugesu crowned the George Town beauty as friends, family and well-wishers rushed to the stage to congratulate her.

The pageant, which took place in front of a packed out audience at the Lions Centre, saw 17-year-old Prescilian beat off competition from five other teens.

The six contestants – Alexia Williams, Kameal Seymour, Adrianna Christian, Alyssa Ebanks, Prescilian Bromfield and Onassia Bodden – appeared in a variety of stunning outfits as they vied for the coveted crown in the three and a half hour event.

While the girls changed costumes, entertainment was provided by a number of local acts, including rappers C.B.R, crooner Lonney Lovechild and dancers from Dance Unlimited.

First runner-up went to 17-year-old Alyssa Ebanks of West Bay. Adrianna Christian from George Town was named second runner-up.
