Pirates Week Bodden Town District Day, falling on a holiday (Monday 13 November) in 2006, will see a number of new activities early in the day.
The early morning will include a Family Fun and Fitness jaunt through the District, starting at 7am from Coe Wood Public Beach, which will have cyclists, runners and walkers in Le Tour Bodden Town. There is a voluntary $5 contribution to the event with all proceeds going to the Senior Citizens Home. Participants will receive T-shirts as well as various prizes (adults and children) from a draw.
The holiday fun continues at 9am with a Curry Cook-Off at Coe Wood Beach and will move into a series of all-day activities including Face Painting, Pony and Horse Rides, Hair Braiding, and a Craft Exhibition. Food and craft stalls will open at 11am.
Among the afternoon highlights will be a crab race at Coe Wood Beach at 1pm, dominoes at Neevle’s’s Shop at 2pm, Costume Judging at Coe Wood Beach 2.30pm, and Quadrille at 3.30pm, with the Governor and the Minister of Tourism arriving at 4 pm.
At 9pm, the Street Dance begins, headlined by Kes The Band from Trinidad.
