‘The St. George’s Church project was perfect for us,’ said Lois Blumenthal, president of the Garden Club. ‘We were able to provide some trees and shrubbery and thanks to our gardener extraordinaire, Rob Bennett, we also provided some of the expertise and labour to complete this project quickly.’

‘One of our founding members, Mrs. Elaine Kirkconnell, attended this church,’ added Mr. Bennett. ‘We were especially pleased because we actually still had a small Poinciana tree from her garden to plant there in her memory.’

The Garden Club of Grand Cayman meets on the first Thursday of every month for lectures, field trips and workshops relating to gardening and landscaping in the Cayman Islands. The mission includes education, friendship and undertaking projects like this one to beautify our community.
