The highlight of Bodden Town storytelling night at the primary school courtyard was ‘Gimi a break rain’.
Periodic splatters of rain drops had the audience playing musical chairs most of the night as they ran for shelter with chairs in hand.
But whether it was a little drizzle or a heavy downpour, the rain did not stop the audience from enjoying this night of storytelling.
The show got off to a good start with the talented and enthusiastic Divene Bush, who got the crowd all worked up with her combination of extempo calypso tunes.
Local comedian and storyteller Quincy Brown was just as entertaining. He psyched up the audience with some old Caymanian sayings, songs and anansi stories.
Award-winning Guyanese actor Ron Bobb-Semple playing acting on the cell phone with an overseas relative had many in the audience identifying with the one-sided conversation – ‘now you in foreign, send money.’
Also lending their talents to the night were students of Savannah and Bodden Town primary schools.
