Sunshine Suites to host weigh-in for fighters

Sunshine Suites has stepped into the ring as major sponsors of the upcoming championship boxing event, ‘Triumph’, held on Saturday, 21 April at Lions Centre. The hotel will be hosting the fighters, as well as a weigh-in and happy hour reception from 5:30 pm on the evening of Friday, 20 April.

The weigh-in and welcoming reception for the fighters in the upcoming championship boxing event, Triumph, will take place on Friday, 20 April from 5:30 pm at Sunshine Suites pool-side restaurant, The Sunshine Grill. The reception provides an opportunity for the community to meet and greet all the fighters traveling to the Cayman Islands from Florida, Jamaica and the Bahamas. An autograph session including the two main contenders, Charles ‘Killa’ Whittaker and Jerome Ellis will also take place.

Ann-Marie Byrd, a promoter with KnockOut Productions, the organizing body behind ‘Triumph’, said ‘We are grateful to Sunshine Suites in graciously hosting the fighters, as well as the weigh-in on the night prior to the event.

‘Combining the weigh-in with a welcoming reception allows residents to meet the fighters, take some pictures, and engage with professional athletes from the Caribbean region and the USA.’

The weigh-in and reception will take place at the hotel’s pool-side restaurant, The Sunshine Grill, with ‘Triumph’ fight t-shirts available for purchase, and Radio Cayman to provide musical entertainment.
