A number of road closures will be in place this week to facilitate various events.
According to a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service advisory, roads around the Legislative Assembly will be closed Friday, 27 April from around 8.30am to facilitate the opening of the Legislative Assembly.
The following road junctions will be affected:
? Fort Street and Harbour Drive
? Fort Street and Edward Street
? Fort Street and Albert Panton Street
The closures will take effect at around 8.30am. Drivers who park along Albert Panton Street are urged to do so before this time. The roads are likely to re-open at around 10.30am.
On Saturday, 28 April a number of road closures will be in place to facilitate the Junior Batabano Parade. From around 2pm the following roads will be closed:
? Elgin Avenue at the roundabout near the Red Cross building
? Boilers Road and South Church Street
? North Church Street and Mary Street
? Mary Street and Fort Street
? Hospital Road Road and Elgin Avenue (cars will not be allowed to drive towards Elgin Avenue from the four way stop.)
? Goring Avenue and Smith Road
? Shedden Road and Mary Street
The following road will remain closed until around 9pm to facilitate further celebrations
on Elgin Avenue at the roundabout near the Red Cross Building. Elgin Avenue and Hospital Road (when exiting Hospital Road drivers will only be able to turn left into town). All other roads will re-open at around 6pm.
