Man stabbed in break-in

A Windsor Park resident was stabbed several times early Wednesday morning during a break-in at his home, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

The victim, who is in his late 50’s, told RCIPS investigators he and his wife were asleep in their Anthony Dr. home when the attack occurred. He said he woke up around 1.20am to find another man in the bedroom.

Police said the victim confronted the intruder and was stabbed in the stomach several times during the struggle. He was taken to hospital, treated, and released.

The suspect fled the home after taking some cash. He’s described as being brown to fair-skinned; six foot one inch tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black shirt and black shorts at the time of the break-in.

Anyone in the area at the time of the crime who may have seen this man is asked to call Detective Constable Charmane Dalhouse at the George Town police station on 949-4222.
