Insurance broker launched

Island Heritage Holdings Limited has launched Caribbean Risk Services Ltd., a Cayman Islands insurance broker committed to providing professional insurance services to the public and business community of the Cayman Islands.

Bryan Murphy, chairman of CRS, said the launching of the brokerage is a sign of continued strong commitment to the insurance industry in the Cayman Islands and its status as a leading financial services centre. Island Heritage Insurance Company has been successful in meeting many of the regional property insurance needs, however, many of our customers have been requesting help in providing wider professional insurance broking advice to include the placement of commercial property and specialist professional lines.

‘There is particular need for these coverages in the Cayman Islands to support the important financial services and tourist industries. In the coming months we will also be able to provide motor and marine cover with planned expansion into a full range of broking services. We are convinced that the best way to service the community is through a separate professional broker who will provide the correct level of focus and access to the international markets,’ he said.

‘I am delighted that Island Heritage is showing further commitment to the Cayman Islands through this venture, which will meet the needs of both individuals and businesses by providing a complete range of professional broking services in the Cayman Islands,’ said Mr. Conor O’ Dea, chairman of Island Heritage Holdings. ‘I look forward to watching the growth of this venture as an independent operating business within the Island Heritage group.’

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has approved the recent appointment of Clive Dawson as general manger and he brings over 20 years of international insurance and management experience.
