Almost 200 staff members from Cayman National met for their 16th Annual Staff Awards Banquet to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of colleagues. The event was held at the Marriott Beach Resort on Saturday 23rd June with members of the Board of Directors also in attendance.
The theme of this year’s meeting was ‘Everything Speaks, true professionalism the core of service excellence,’ and the internationally recognised speaker, Dennis Snow of Snow and Associates in Orlando Florida, presented the keynote address.
Stuart Dack, Cayman National’s CEO, commended staff for their contribution to the continued success of the organisation.
‘Our annual staff event provides us the opportunity to celebrate staff successes as well as recognize their role in the success of Cayman National’, said Mr. Dack.
Group awards were presented to staff in the various categories as follows: Roselyn Forbes and Yvette Grant, Team Spirit and Organisation; Lorna Medina, Community Service; Gillian Lawrence and Michele Mogg, Customer Service Excellence; Leticia Brown, Personal and Professional Development; Charmaine Ebanks, Staff Choice; Julie Hurlston, IFS President’s Award; Gina Conolly-Riverol and Jill Anderson, Trust and Fund Service Awards.
The Team Spirit Award was presented to the IFS Operations team and the Cayman Brac Customer Service Team received the CEO’s Award of Excellence.
Long service awards were also presented, with 28 staff receiving awards for five to 25 years of service.
Cayman National Bank’s President Ormond Williams said that in the financial services world products and services offered are basically homogenous and for one organization to distinguish itself from its competitors, the focus must be on the quality of its customer service and the depth of its relationships with its clients.
‘At Cayman National, we uphold and execute a strategy designed to raise the bar several notches on these two facets, to ensure that we help clients achieve their success, and by extension, we secure success for all our stakeholders,’ said Mr. Williams. ‘We believe that the success of our staff is driven by a combination of experience and qualifications underpinned by the right attitude and availability of opportunities which increase as our company grows.’

A highlight of the evening was the entertainment of a very brave review performed by a group of staff. The lyrics of the song composed spoke to the theme of the meeting and a bit of the Cayman culture were incorporated in the melody using a familiar local folk song, Munzie Boat in the Sound.
Prizes were drawn at the end of the meeting and included round trip tickets to New York and Cayman Brac, Ritz-Carlton Silver Rain Spa gift certificate, dinners and other items.
