Congratulations to the Editorial Board of the Compass for calling the turtle killer or killers what they are; rogues or worse; defilers of wildlife.
Indigenous people in the Cayman Islands have even less excuse for butchering wild mother sea turtles coming up to lay their eggs than people anywhere else in the world, because only in the Cayman Islands can turtle meat be bought legally.
As a retired NBC News and Voice of America correspondent who has written about sea turtles for VOA, I am devoting considerable time now to furthering the cause of sea turtle conservation through national and international media.
We need more people to volunteer to protect the turtle beaches in the Caymans and everywhere else around the planet and fewer low-lifes who would stoop to kill an endangered animal in the act of giving birth.
