Windell Wellington Dilbert appeared in Summary Court on Wednesday for a preliminary inquiry into the charge of murdering Michael Elliot Ebanks on 1 June.
As a result, Magistrate Nova Hall directed that Dilbert appear in Grand Court at the opening of the next criminal session on Wednesday, 5 September.
Mr. Ebanks, 40, was found dead at his residence in Courts Road, George Town, on the evening of Friday, 1 June. Court records confirmed that Dilbert, 73, had the same address.
Crown Counsel Richard Hearnden said the psychiatric report requested in June was not yet available.
Attorney Lloyd Samson appeared on behalf of Dilbert.
