Savannah Gully meeting

A meeting will be held 1 November to evaluate alternatives for preventing or mitigating flooding of the area commonly known as the Savannah Gully.

Scheduled for 8pm at the Savannah Primary School the meeting’s aim is to receive and address the public’s questions about the coastal floodwall that is proposed as a first step in preventing saltwater flooding due to wave run-up from severe storms. Such flooding is associated with hurricanes approaching from the south and is typically caused when waves break through low and eroded spots in the coastal ironshore.
