Sunset slammed Scholars 7-0 in CIFA’s Women’s Simon Robshaw Caytech Under-15 Girl’s League action last Monday at the Northside playing field.
Zonief Walker started the ball rolling in the 12th minute. In the 18th minute Catie Bayles took the score to 2-0. Rosemarie Giddes started her hat-trick in the 27th minute while Ogarro Botha completed her double in the 30th and 31st minute to end the first half 5-0.
At the start of the second half Scholars changed their game plan and started to apply pressure to the winners attacking and making some advances towards goal but this technique was quickly dismantled and it was Giddes who took the score to 6-0 with a goal in the 70th minute.
In the 76th minute Giddes netted again ending the game at a 7-0 score line in favor of Sunset.
Jestica Ebanks’ 33rd minute goal made the difference when Elite defeated defending champions Future 1-0 at the East End playing field.
Meanwhile, in the lone CIFA Fosters National League competition played at the East End playing field Future defeated Elite 1-0. Mark Ebanks scored the all important goal in the 76th minute.
Ebanks managed to penetrate the defence line of Elite after a tough encounter in the first interval and the better part of the second half.
