Bodden Town seniors were treated with lots of Christmas cheer at the Church of God grounds recently.
Made possible each year by the dedicated efforts of the Sav/New CODAC committee in conjunction with the Bodden Town Seniors committee, the seniors were again thanked for their enormous contributions to the islands.
Attending the festive occasion and wishing seniors a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year was the Governor Mr. Stuart Jack and his wife Mariko.
The governor was given the honour of throwing the switch to display a spectacular array of Christmas lights and decorations on guard house hill.
Health Minister Anthony Eden said it was always heart-warming when seniors were recognised during the Christmas season.
Ginger Solomon a member of the Bodden Town Church of God congregation read the Christmas Story, this told of the birth of Baby Jesus born in Bethlehem.
The annual event, a fun way to kick off the festive season for the elderly, also remembered loved ones in a moment of silence.
A number of gifts presented by various businesses in the community were also distributed among the seniors
During the rest of the afternoon seniors enjoyed hors d’ oeuvres, musical items, met MLAS and chatted with friends.
