Cayman Airways passengers can now check themselves in for flights from the comfort of their own home or office thanks to a new service just launched by the national airline.
Cayman Airways introduced the web check-in service from Saturday, 1 March. It will allow customers to check themselves in, select a seat, and print their boarding pass online at www.caymanairways.com
Web check-in is available on all flights except Montego Bay and that will be resolved as soon as possible, said the airline.
Director of Information Technology, David Shibli said: ‘We are very excited to be using the technology available to us to enhance the level of service we offer to our customers.’
Web check-in is now available for passengers holding a Cayman Airways confirmed and valid ticket, anytime between 24 and two hours prior to their flight departure.
Web check-in passengers with a boarding pass and carry-on bags will be able to go directly to the security check point. Customers who are dropping off bags or who need their boarding pass printed can use the fast bag drop off counter.
Recent rules put in place by the TSA require Cayman Airways to have all documents verified and in the system before the message automatically sends to US Immigration.
‘With this in mind we are asking persons with no bags to arrive at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure. This will allow them to clear any immigration lines and be in the boarding area in time to have their documents verified.
‘People with bags should arrive at the airport 90 minutes before departure as they need to get to the front of the fast bag line before the flight is closed which is 60 minutes prior to departure. This will allow for the completion of all screening procedures.’
Customers without access to the internet can continue to use early check-in. Ongoing preparatory works for the Airport Expansion Project have seen less Cayman Airways passengers using airport check-in due to construction and temporarily reduced parking options, said the airline, and CAL headquarters check-in remains strong.
Information about web check-in is available online at www.caymanairways.com and passengers can also call Reservations if necessary on 949 2311.
