Block party First Friday is success

dms Broadcasting Ltd. celebrated the inauguration of their First Friday promotion last weekend, a press release said.

The monthly celebration will continue to occur on the first Friday of each month and be the nearest thing to a block party that Cayman has seen.

$10 wrist bands gave partygoers access to five venues in George Town – Bacchus, Hammerheads, Rackams, Senor Frogs and the Valhalla.

‘The turnout was fantastic and it was a fun-packed all night party – the ultimate way to unwind from the working week,’ Phil Vinciullo, dms Broadcasting’s network promotions and marketing manager said. ‘With the awesome drink specials, crowds of familiar faces and the fantastic prize giveaway to cap off the night – the night proved a huge success.’

He added: ‘To entice people to join in the fun we put a unique twist on the promotion by introducing the stamping of passports as patrons moved from bar to bar.’

Upon being stamped at all venues patrons were then invited to submit their passport in turn making them eligible to win a selection of prizes – the grand prize being a flight for two to any Cayman Airways destination.

There was endless entertainment as X107.1’s J-Kruz spun everyone’s favourite tunes at Hammerheads, and HOT 104.1 FM’s DJ Flex spun and announced prizes at Senor Frogs. Ben Maxwell, 96.5 CAYROCK’s morning show host, was on board the Valhalla as it escorted party-goers between each waterfront location.
