American Idol semi-finalist Coffey Anderson, in partnership with Sunrise Community Church, is looking forward to a super busy weekend.
The Texan musician, performing his own brand of contemporary Christian music and acoustic Country tomorrow night (Saturday, 15 March – 7.30pm at the Harquail Theatre), will also lead the praise and worship portion of the church’s Palm Sunday service at the venue from 10am to 12 noon on Sunday, 16 March.
‘Saturday’s performance is a sell-out and we wanted to enjoy fellowship with as many people as we could on Sunday. Sunrise Community Church worship here and everyone is welcome,’ the artist told the CaymanianCompass.
Cayman Starquest winner Kathleen Jackman is slated to open Saturday’s show.
Anderson’s albums: Southern Man, Me and You, and his debut Gospel CD, The Inspiration, are popular downloads.
The singer is largely self-taught having borrowed a guitar from a friend. After learning a few chords, writing songs became an obsession. He eventually built the courage to test his talent and moved to Los Angeles, California. Without knowing a single person in LA, Cofféy started crashing auditions, movie shoots, and singing in malls. His persistence paid off.
He has been performing throughout the States and has played at over 100 gigs in the past seven months. He has also completed three albums and his music is available on Apple’s iTunes store.
Sunrise Community Church meets at the Harquail Theatre for Sunday services at 10am. More information about Sunrise Community Church is available at www.sunrise.ky.
