Mr. Lonny Tibbetts has accepted the position of Director of Employment Relations and will assume his new role with effect from 1 May.
Mr. Tibbetts, a highly motivated and enthusiastic Caymanian whose qualifications include a Masters of Business Administration from the International College of the Cayman Islands and a B.A in Accounting from the University of South Florida, is an experienced senior manager with an extensive background in management and employee relations. Having worked for more than 10 years in various industries and owning and operating his own company, he possesses a wealth of knowledge in strategic planning and human capital development.
On assuming the role of Director of Employment Relations, Mr. Tibbetts areas of responsibility will include streamlining the Department’s organizational processes and procedures in order to serve the public more efficiently, and overseeing the implementation of a number of recommendations contained in the Labour Consultancy report – such as leading the Labour Law review process.
The Department of Employment Relations under Mr. Tibbetts leadership will also focus its attention on establishing a code of best practices in human resource management, specifically designed to address local needs.
