Nominations are open for the Golden Apple Awards 2008
The Chamber of Commerce is inviting students, parents and teachers to nominate exceptional educators for the Chamber of Commerce Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Launched in 2007 with the support of Partners in Education Cable & Wireless, CLICO (Cayman) Ltd, Dart Cayman Islands, Walkers, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and CITN Cayman 27, this annual event aims to recognise teachers for their dedication, inspiration and for making a difference in the lives of our youth.
The black-tie gala event will take place at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman on Friday 20th June 2008 with the awards ceremony televised live on Cayman 27.
There are seven categories for nomination: Primary School Teacher in a Public School; Primary School Teacher in a Private School; Middle School Teacher in a Public School; Middle School Teacher in a Private School; High School Teacher in a Public School, High School Teacher in a Private School; Principal in a Public or Private School.
Nomination forms should be carefully completed, including reasons for the nomination. The eight recipients from 2007 are not eligible to receive an award.
All forms should be submitted to the school administration office or directly to the Chamber of Commerce offices by Wednesday April 30.
