New vice-president for Cayman Airways

There is soon to be a new Vice President of Flight Operations at Cayman Airways.

The Board of Directors and the CEO have announced the selection of Captain Olson Anderson to the position of Vice President of Flight Operations, effective 12 May, 2008.

In this role, Captain Anderson will be responsible for the day-to-day flight operations, ensuring that Cayman Airways achieve compliance to all Cayman Islands Civil Aviation Authority and regulatory requirements for the CAL and CAL Express Certificates, said a press release.

As the manager responsible for this department, Captain Anderson will provide leadership for the pilots, flight attendants, system operations control and Cayman Airways Express.

In addition, he will be responsible for all operational and project plans for the department while maintaining CAL’s ‘Working Together’ standards.

Captain Anderson brings with him strong technical skills and varied experiences that have prepared him for this new position, the release stated.

Chief Executive Officer Mr. Patrick Strasburger says: ‘We are pleased to welcome Captain Olson to this new role and we are also grateful to Captain Kris Bergstrom for his excellent leadership and expertise over the past two years.

‘We are pleased that he will remain with the company and return to full time flying duties.’
