A recent scenic drive to the cliffs past Pedro St James provided an opportunity for my guest and me to admire an apparently freshly dumped washer and drier sitting on the side of the road.
It seems that every side road and canal, every empty lot, every new development is used as an opportunity for the illegal dumpers to practice their crimes.
As the police seem incapable of enforcing the laws against illegal dumping, I suggest that the Caymanian Compass have a daily/weekly ‘shame’ site, where readers submit photos of such recent events, along with any pertinent details (names on trashed envelopes, vehicle plate numbers etc.)
What a huge public service it would be, if the Caymanian Compass was instrumental in curtailing this outrageous practice. Given the overall public sentiment, I suspect it would also be a hugely popular feature.
