The Cayman Islands has been included in the top 50 destinations for weddings in the world in the latest Modern Bride magazine issue.
The article warned honeymooner that the only culture shock they can expect is driving on the left and declared Cayman was ‘right for couples looking to chill out in a tropical isle with all the usual comforts.’
It advises couples to scuba dive in the pristine waters off Little Cayman and Cayman Brac, or frolic with the stingrays at Stingray City, or simply indulge in shopping for jewellery or designer clothing.
The magazine recommends staying at the Ritz-Carlton, the Westin Casuarina or the Southern Cross Club on Little Cayman.
In the August/September issue article, the 12th annual survey of the hottest destinations around the globe were selected by a panel of Virtuoso travel specialists. Virtuoso is a leading luxury travel network, with more than 300 agencies and 6,000 travel specialists in 22 countries.
The magazine also voted Cayman the third best location for diving and snorkelling out of 10 destinations, behind Belize and Australia.
Modern Bride has a circulation of 347,083 and the Department of Tourism reported that the ad value of the article was $23,822.
