Lovers of all things equestrian and canine got their fill over the weekend.
The Caribbean Equestrian Association Junior Jumping Competition was held in George Town over and participants and spectators alike enjoyed the event in the blazing heat.
Teams from Jamaica, Bermuda, Trinidad & Tobago competed against Cayman at the equestrian centre just off Linford Pearson highway.
There were four rounds of show jumping for the 14 and Under and 16 and Under divisions.
Jamaica’s Adam Lake proved to be a strong rider bringing them to first place. Bermuda showed some great riding with a few jumps knocked down to take second place.
Both Trinidad and Cayman had some eliminations which carry heave faults that put them in a close position for third and fourth contenders. There was only two faults difference with the Cayman riders missing out.
Kelsey Bodden was Cayman’s younger rider and Alex Kennett was the other local rider.
The Dogs Horsing Around do show turned out to be an excellent event with over 20 owners entering over 100 entries.
There were two entries from the Humane Society who proved that they are super nice dogs. One even won the cbstacle course. The dogs and owners had great fun and the Humane Society did well.
