Cayman Islands Grand Court Justice Alexander Henderson has been informed by his attorneys that his police bail has been cancelled, meaning he is essentially no longer under arrest on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.
Mr. Henderson, who was taken into custody 24 September by officers with a special investigating team from the UK Metropolitan Police Service, had both his home and office searched by those officers.
A judge later ruled that search was done improperly and illegally, and quashed the search warrants which were issued by a Cayman Islands Justice of the Peace.
‘It’s the first positive response I’ve received since I was arrested,’ Mr. Henderson said of his bail cancellation.
Royal Cayman Islands Police officials had not immediately responded to questions about Mr. Henderson’s bail.
