Two men were arrested over the weekend for various offences following a stabbing which occurred Saturday night.
The 911 Emergency Communications Centre received a call at 9.40pm from a member of the public reporting that shots had been fired in the vicinity of Peppers nightclub. Soon after that call a second report was received stating a man was behind Grand Pavilion and was suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound.
Police and medics were sent to the scene. The caller then stated that the victim was leaving the location. Police were told the man was being driven by car to the hospital, along with a second victim, a female.
Police arrived at hospital and found that the man had suffered a number of stab wounds to his body. The woman had suffered a stab wound to her hand. Both have since been treated and released from hospital.
Following investigations, a 22-year-old suspect was arrested in West Bay Sunday morning. A 25-year-old suspect was arrested later in the day.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of possessing an unlicensed firearm, attempted murder and wounding and remained in police custody at press time.
