Recently, Year 7 students from George Hicks High School buried time capsules at the Mission House in Bodden Town.
The project was part of their Social Studies course and was supported by the National Trust.
The time capsule will be opened in ten years time by the students to view the contents.
Each student brought items to leave in the time capsule, including photographs, coins and a copy of the Cayman Compass, What’s Hot? Magazine, and letters.
The project was spearheaded by Humanities Teacher, Audrey Gayle from Heritage High School and Jamie Azan, Historical Property Manager for the National Trust.
After meeting with Ms. Azan, the students were able to look around the house and grounds.
Students then watched the capsule being buried after a short speech was made to signify the importance of the event.
The afternoon ended with refreshments and a sense of positively contributing to the history of Cayman.
