Storm Quick Cash A are undefeated thus far and are the team to beat going into the New Year.
The side plays in division one of the Cayman Islands Netball Association Senior Women’s League.
Storm, like almost every other team in the league, has only played two games but already have impressive results.
The team beat perennial contenders Roma 33-24 on 11 December and then destroyed Bodden Town Eclipzers A 63-13.
The side has seen great wing play from Wing Defender Joanna Zieger and Wing Assist Charlotte Hayward, with Centre Lashawn Davis doing well to help out the passing.
The squad has also been great on the defensive end courtesy of Goal Defense Anissa Owen and Goal keeper Marticqua Murray.
Based on these results, the team has had no trouble scoring. Goal Assist Sophie Foster and Goal Shooter Laverne Ebanks have had much to do with that fact.
All Stars are in second at 1-0 after beating Rawlinson and Hunter 43-25 on 9 December.
In third are Bodden Town Eclipzers A at 1-1. The squad beat Rising Stars A 36-23 before suffering the aforementioned loss to Storm.
That leaves Roma and Rawlinson and Hunter to bring up the rear at 0-1.
In division two Maples and Calder have started out well. They’re only 1-0 but they had an impressive 25-10 win over Storm B on 9 December.
Unity is the other early undefeated squad at 1-0. They took down BT Eclipzers B 21-11 on 11 December.
John Gray Mixed haven’t played a game yet and they’re 1-0 courtesy of a forfeit by Rising Stars B on 6 December.
Storm B are playing decent at 1-1. Aside from their early loss against Maples and Calder the squad did beat Rising Stars B 30-17 on 13 December.
Thus far BT Eclipzers B (0-1) and Rising Stars B (0-2) are at the bottom of the six-team division.
Games in the league have been played Thursdays (at 6pm) and Saturdays (at 6:30pm) at the netball courts at Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
The next set of games is scheduled for the first week of the New Year.
On Thursday 8 January Rawlinson and Hunter take on Roma while Unity battle John Gray Mixed.
On Saturday 10 January All Stars take on Rising Stars A while BT Eclipzers B face Maples and Calder.
