Pollini is bouncing back

Local tennis player Paolo Pollini is fighting fit and ready for a comeback after knee surgery.

Pollini is a well known face on the tennis and running circuit but injury has kept him out for most of the year.

He won the Cayman Islands Tennis Club’s Tri-a-thon tournament last year beating Martin Lang in a terrific game.

Pollini won the first set 7-5 but his superior fitness told in the next set for him to win it 6-2. He has run the Cayman Islands half marathon before and is intent on reaching peak fitness again.

Polloni, 44, is a restaurateur at the Italian diner Luca on West Bay Road. He said: ‘I’m looking forward to coming back soon and defending my title.’

He has started serving a sportsman’s Sunday brunch at Luca’s, all you can eat for $39.95. So anyone tired of the usual Christmas fare should get delicious other options down there.
