Sprucing up Mission House

Recently, the Critical Life Skills class at the Lighthouse School participated in a tree planting project at the Mission House in Bodden Town.

‘The National Trust purchased a Cedar, two Native Cherries, a Bitter Plum and an Ackee tree for the students to plant and these were strategically placed around the yard and provision ground of the Mission House site,’ said Denise Bodden, Historic Programmes Manager of the National Trust.

‘This project forms part of a series of site enhancements that the National Trust has planned for the Mission House,’ she said.

‘It was a wonderful exercise to be able to include some of Cayman’s youth in re-establishing native and historically significant trees on such an important historic site to the Cayman Islands.’
