Customs officer reaches new heights

Senior Customs Officer, Kerrylyn Ebanks, recently graduated with Honours from the University College of the Cayman Islands with her Associates Degree in Applied Science, with a concentration in Business Administration.

Ms. Ebanks has been employed with the Customs Department for over 18 years, and looks forward to further developing the role by integrating her new-found knowledge and expertise into her daily duties. ‘I would like to say thanks to the Customs Department’s Education Council for supporting me during my studies and a big thanks to management for their support over the years,’ she said. ‘To my friends and family – I could not have done it without you. Thanks for the sacrifice, I truly appreciate it.’

Commenting on her outstanding achievement, Deputy Collector of Customs, Dale Ramoon, said, ‘A dedicated employee, Ms. Ebanks continues to demonstrate her commitment to excellence and ensure that she is a multifaceted employee who can serve in all areas of the Department.’

Similarly, Training Manager Langlie Powery is proud to have such an enthusiastic employee, adding, ‘It is rewarding to witness the development of our staff, and graduating with Honours demonstrates Ms. Ebanks’ determination and hard work has paid off.’
