Chelsea are set to stage the first boxing world title fight at Stamford Bridge.
London heavyweight David Haye has agreed to fight Wladimir Klitschko at the ground on June 20 with only minor details to be sorted.
He will take on Klitschko for the IBF and WBO world titles after a proposed bout against the Ukrainian’s elder brother Vitali fell through.
Chelsea have applied for the licences to stage the bout subject to potential crowd control problems being overcome.
Setanta TV have already gained the broadcast rights for former cruiserweight world champion Haye’s attempt to win the heavy crown.
A Haye insider confirmed: ‘This is all in the process of being finalised. Of course there have been some problems along the way but this is boxing.’
