One of Cayman’s national football teams is back in action this week.
The national U23 side is slated to play North Side tonight at the Annex Field from 7:30pm.
A number of Cayman’s best young footballers are part of the team including Mark Ebanks, Dave McLaughlin Junior and Tex Whitelocke.
The squad, coach by Ernie ‘Gillie’ Seymour, is playing numerous exhibition matches throughout the year to prepare for international competitions.
Their last game was on 14 January at the Annex. They beat Bodden Town 3-0 with Raheem Robinson, Darvin Watson Jr and Theron Wood netting the deciding goals.
Over the last three games the team has been in good form. The side drew three all with an East End select squad on 3 December. Then they drew two all with a Scholars select team on 17 December before grabbing an impressive win last month.
The next game for the squad is slated to be against Latinos on 18 February at Ed Bush Field.
