The national U23 football team will be in action again tonight.
The squad is set to face Latinos at the Annex Field in George Town at 7:30pm.
The match will be the second of the month for the national U23 squad and is among the last four scheduled before May.
The games serve as a way of preparing Cayman’s young footballers for the plethora of international competitions upcoming.
Among the bigger ones mentioned by National U23 Coach Ernie ‘Gillie’ Seymour were the 2011 U17 and U20 Junior World Cup qualifiers and 2012 Olympic qualifiers which take place in 2011 as well.
The national side has been in good form leading up to tonight’s match.
The squad drew with East End three all at the Annex Field in George Town on 3 December.
Gabriel Godet, Gavin Watson Jr. and Mark Ebanks put themselves into space well in that game and each slotted home convincing goals.
Roughly two weeks later the side would garner another draw, this time two all with a Scholars select side at the Ed Bush Field on 17 December.
The U23 team would benefit from a Scholars defensive miscue for an own goal and a goal from Tex Whitelocke.
On 14 January Bodden Town got a 3-0 drubbing from the youngsters with goals coming from Raheem Robinson, Darvin Watson Jr and Theron Wood.
From there the U23 side would annihilate North Side 6-0 at the Annex Field. Andre McFarlane scored, West Bayers Theron Wood and Mark Ebanks netted a pair and Donald Solomon Jr scored on a penalty kick.
Their next game after tonight is 4 March against Roma at the Annex Field.
