KPMG hammer Senor Frogs

Many sports took a break last week on Ash Wednesday.

Among those was softball in the form of the Winter Adult Co-Ed Softball League.

A short week five wrapped up last Saturday and saw nine games played in four days.

The action started on Sunday as KPMG Bounty Hunters clobbered Senor Frogs 32-8 while Master Batters got a big win over Home Gas 13-12.

On Monday Electratech Pure Energy got by PWC Scorpions 9-6, Vivendi Cabaret continued their impressive form taking down Doghouse Glovernauts 16-8 and Deloitte Canadian Bacon benefited from a forfeit in their match against KM Ltd.

Tuesday saw a trio of games as Chuggers got by Jose Escape 18-16, Coolers took down KPMG A 14-12 and the Ritz Carlton Jesters won a tight one over the Citi Insomniacs 1-0.

After Wednesday’s break, Thursday would see a pair of games postponed. The only game that would go off without hitch would be a barn-burner that saw PWC Experience just edge the Fluor Sweepers 20-19.

Heading into week six the standings show competition is heating up.

In the Breadfruit division of the A league defending league champions Home Gas are on top with Coolers on their tail. KPMG A are third while KM Ltd are at the bottom.

The Casava division sees Deloitte Canadian Bacon on top, Jose Escape slipping into second, Master Batters third and Chuggers playing catch-up in the cellar.

In the Silver Thatch division of the B league Vivendi remain top dogs at 4-0, Ritz Carlton Jesters and Doghouse are playing catch-up with sub-.500 records and Citi is in fourth.

In the Banana Orchid division Maples Sluggers are calling the tune at 4-0, PWC Experience are 4-1, and CML Hammerheads are third at 2-2. KPMG, Senor Frogs and Fluor all fall in after that.

In the C league’s lone Guinep division Julius Baer have the magic touch working as they’re 4-0 while Maples C are second at 3-1. ElectraTech are in third and winless PWC Scorpions are in the cellar.

Games continue through the end of this week at the Field of Dreams baseball facility in George Town.
