A Bodden Town resident can be seen tooling around Grand Cayman in a new red VW Beetle thanks to Digiciel.
Mava Jones won the car in the first grand draw of Digicel’s Top-up and Drive Anniversary promotion on 13 May at Welly’s Cool Bar & Restaurant.
The grand draw was the climax of a week of exciting activities leading-up to the first Top-up & Drive VW Beetle draw. Digicel partnered with dms Broadcasting to host a number of radio promotions to keep the Caymanian public informed about the promotion, via Hot 104.1fm, X107 fm, KISS fm and Cayrock. There were a number of on-air competitions giving away Blackberry 8220 and 8800 phones also,
The 10 finalists for the grand draw were Janet Turner, Garth Arch, Anthony Collins, Winston Allen, Sally Rosa Campbell, Charlene Hylton, Mava Jones, Phyllis Waugh, Miguel Hodgson and Melvin Gayne.
The party kicked off with the sound of the latest hits pumping from the Hot 104.1 van. DJ Renato and radio personality Chuck Taylor created an exciting atmosphere while attendees mingled and enjoyed the bar and buffet.
Each person was asked to select a CD from the ten that were provided. The finalists were asked to sit in the driver’s seat and then each insert their CD into the CD player of the prize car; the CD that played the official Digicel radio advert for Top-up & Drive was the winning cue. Mava inserted her CD into the radio to the sound of ‘…driver, get your marks, top-up, GO…,’ revealing the winning token to a barrage of exciting shouts and cheers from the audience. There were consolation prizes of Coral 300 phones and three months free Digicel Broadband subscription for other finalists.
Mava has been a prepaid mobile phone customer with Digicel Cayman since 2004, coincidentally giving her further reasons to celebrate the company’s 5th anniversary.
The promotion is continuing with two more VW Beetles to be won. Digicel prepaid customers can increase their chances by purchasing Top-up of $10 or more for Digicel mobile prepaid phones or prepaid Broadband internet. Prepaid phone customers will receive one point per purchase while Broadband customers will receive two points per purchase. Postpaid customers will earn 10 points when they pay their Digicel bills in full and on time during the promotional period. Points are allocated electronically based on subscribers’ transaction history. While the more entries the better chances one has to win, Digicel does not guarantee any selection of winner(s) based on the number of entries but mainly on a random basis.
