The first Open Water Sea Swim of this year is happening on Seven Mile Beach tomorrow.
This has been an annual event sponsored by Cable & Wireless for the last 21 years but for the first time this year by LIME, the company’s new name.
It is an 800 metres swim starting at Governor’s beach and ending at Public Beach. The start line will see the very young first time swimmer, the competitive, the masters and the young at heart, from age four to over 70. It’s a fun event for the whole family.
Registration is at Governor’s Beach from 3:00pm to 3:45pm just prior to the race which starts at 4.
Swimmers are required to wear the distinctive LIME swim caps provided at time of registration.
Food and drinks will be available at the end of the race and medals given to the top three finishers in all age groups.
All swimmers will also receive a T-shirt.
Prizes will be drawn including phones generously donated by LIME.
Entry fees for CIASA members are $5/child and $10/adult and non-members pay $10/child and $15/adult.
Non-members can join the Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association for $15/child/year, $25/adult/year or $50/family/year on the day of the swim. This entitles them the member rates for the remainder of the sea swim season.
