Odd wording

Re: ‘Sabrina Investigation pleases RCIPS’. (Compass, 1 April). I think it’s a bit strange for the RCIPS to go eight days without any information about the gruesome Sabrina murder only to now tell us that they are ‘pleased’ with their own work.

What an odd choice of words.

Why do they have to sound so smug? It rather makes one cringe.

The self-congratulatory tone is self-serving and not appropriate to a very tragic and possibly ominous situation.
