Go green Cayman

Books & Books is celebrating Earth Day with Go Green Cayman!, an event which is to be held on Thursday, 16 April from 5pm to 7pm.

Books & Books has partnered with The National Trust, The Department of Environment and Walkers Global to create the educational event for children aged six and older.

Erica Daniel, education programmes coordinator for The National Trust, will give an informative presentation on Cayman’s extensive biodiversity and Sophie Halford, sustainable development officer for the Department of Environment, will discuss how children can help to conserve the islands’ natural environment.

Books & Books has selected some environmentally-conscious children’s stories for the kids to enjoy, and creative crafts will show them that recycling is fun.

Make sure to bring an empty cereal box or milk or juice carton to be turned into colourful magazine holders and bird feeders. Tammy Kelderman, executive legal secretary from Walkers Green Committee, will also share information from the committee’s Earth Day publication, Cayman Eco.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information on the event, visit: booksandbooks.com or call the bookstore at 640-BOOK (640-2665).
