Home Gas burning bright

If there is one thing co-ed softball does not lack it is offense.

Granted many games are close but for the most part runs are not in short supply.

Week 10 of the Winter Adult Co-Ed Softball League wrapped up Saturday 4 April at the Field of Dreams facility in George Town. The league went on break last week due to the Easter holidays.

Many games went in the books with 11 matches concluded over five days.

The action started on Sunday as Dog House Glovernauts beat KPMG Bounty Hunters 7-0.

From there Ritz-Carlton Jesters got by Maples Sluggers 12-7 on Monday before Home Gas burned KPMG A 23-5.

Tuesday started with another massacre as Jose’s Escape slaughtered Master Batters 21-5 while Senor Frogs looked impressive in a 16-14 win over Electratech Pure Energy.

Rookie sensations Julius Baer continued their winning ways with a 14-2 win over PWC Scorpions on Wednesday before Deloitte Canadian Bacon edged by Chuggers 14-11.

The other game on Wednesday would prove to be controversial. Though CML Hammerheads beat Maples C 16-5, the score was not reported in time. As a result the side walked away with a tie and a missed chance to gain ground in their division.

On Thursday Scorpions benefited from a forfeit by Senor Frogs, Vivendi Cabaret beat PWC Experience 13-8 and Coolers had a whale of game as they edged KM Ltd 23-22.

The top teams heading into this week were Home Gas and Jose’s Escape (A league); Vivendi Cabaret and Maples Sluggers (B league) and lastly Julius Baer (C league).
