Cayman’s own rev ahead

This will be an interesting weekend for local motorsports.

Dexterity racing and grudge racing are slated to be all the rage starting from tonight.

The fifth Time Attack race of the year put on by the Cayman Motorsports Association goes off on Saturday.

Cars of all kinds, from big family sedans to purpose-built race machines, are slated to burn rubber from 6pm.

As usual Jay Bodden’s property behind Progressive Distributors on Sparky Drive will be the site of all the action.

Technical inspection and race registration goes off tonight at the Payless auto parts store on Eastern Avenue from 7pm.

In fact tonight will be a busy one for race fans as Breakers Speedway will host a free-for-all fun night from 9pm to 1am.

Grudge matches are expected to feature heavily on the night. Those matches are essentially drag races done by members of the public (who want to run their personal cars) on the track.

According to organizer Ricky Bodden the theory of the event is people can come out, have a good time away from the club scene while enjoying great automotive action.

Food and drink will be on sale for both meets. For more information on both events, log on to www.csn.ky.
