Appleby has recently appointed Jayson Wood as Counsel in the Litigation and Insolvency Practice Group.
Having been practising for over 20 years, Mr. Wood has a wealth of experience in all aspects of corporate and commercial litigation. He has particular expertise in shareholder disputes, corporate fraud, director’s liability and receiverships and liquidations.
Mr. Wood arrived in the Cayman Islands after having spent nearly two years in the British Virgin Islands working at another offshore law firm. While in the British Virgin Islands, he worked on many of the largest and most complex cross-border corporate disputes being litigated in the territory. Prior to that, he was partner-in-charge of the Dispute Resolution Team of Minter Ellison Lawyers (Gold Coast), one of largest law firms in Australia.
Jeremy Walton, partner, said: ‘Appleby already has the largest litigation and insolvency team in the Cayman Islands and is continually recognised as the leader in dispute resolution. Our practice is thriving and we are continuing to recruit in line with that growth.
‘Jayson’s depth of knowledge and experience of offshore practice will further strengthen our team.’
