The North Sound Golf Club recently welcomed a new pro, Mike Touchette, who arrived in Grand Cayman in February.
His role as the associate golf professional is to assist the director of golf Kevin Mumford with the daily functions of the golf shop, playing golf with members and teaching golf to players of all levels.
‘Work wise I arrived here from the Cornwall Golf and Country Club in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada where I spent the past three golf seasons,’ said Touchette.
‘I spent two years as an assistant golf professional and last season as the associate golf professional and golf shop manager.’
Touchette, 27, started playing golf at 17 and turned pro in 2005 aged 23. He’s been a member of the Canadian Professional Golfer’s Association for the past four years and is a CPGA certified level 5 Instructor.
Like many Canadians, previous to golf he spent 15 years playing competitive hockey.
He hails from Summerstown, Ontario, Canada and outside of golf enjoys fishing, hockey and staying fit through training.
‘I also love long walks on the beach with beautiful blonde women!’ he added.
